Anne Mintz joined Forbes in 1986 as the Director of Information
Services overseeing the information center and index, and today holds
the position as the magazine's Director of Knowledge Management. She
is also responsible for negotiating license agreements with online
publishing partners, as well as internet training. Anne earned a
masters degree in library and information services from Rutgers
University and, before joining Forbes, was manager of library services
at Lazard Freres, the investment bank, for 14 years. From 1989-1992 she
served as an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University's Graduate School
of Library Science, where she taught courses about online databases. In
recent years, she has taught classes on internet sleuthing and
evaluating website quality. Her 1990 essay on issues of quality control
in online electronic archives won the UMI/Data Courier Award for
Excellence in Writing. Mintz is also the award-winning editor of "Web
of Deception: Misinformation on the Internet" (2002; Cyberage Books).
